Compressors - manufacturers/types/usage
Remix Bulgaria LTD is an official importer and an exclusive agent for Bulgaria of the Italian companies for manufacturing compressors for compressed natural gas SICOM and M.T.M. BRC Gas Equipment.
The usage of natural gas in automobiles and transport vehicles is possible only after its compression to pressure 220 bar. Natural gas is received from the gas-pipe net under pressure of 4 bar to 40 bar, depending on where the gas transport network (main gas pipe 40 bar, diversion from 4 to 16 bar) is situated. The increase of the pressure is made by compressors, which are part of the compressor station.
The compressed natural gas from the compressor station goes to the gas filling station, from which the refueling of automobiles and transport vehicles is made.

According to the different types of compressors, there are known the following types of compressors:
- Mechanical – crank-rocker mechanism powered by electric motor. (pictures of hydraulic and mechanical compressor)
- Hydraulic – hydraulic mechanism powered by electric motor.

The mechanical compressors have higher efficiency at lower input pressure up to 60 bar. The hydraulic compressors have higher efficiency at higher input pressure from 160 bar and more.
In Bulgaria, the gas transport network supplies with pressure from 4 bar to 40 bar.
For better efficiency and financial results, a combination of mechanical and hydraulic compressor is made. Only Remix Bulgaria LTD offers the market this combination of two types of compressors in one station for compressed natural gas. The stations offered by Remix Bulgaria LTD have a storehouse for compressed natural gas with two levels of the pressure.
- low level from 180 to 200 bar provided by the mechanical compressor (from 50 to 200 kW)
- high level from 210 to 230 bar provided by the hydraulic compressor (from 11 to 18 kW)
A considerable saving of electric power is made by this combination of two types of compressors and it also lengthen the resource of the equipment.
